Questions & Answers
If you don’t see your question here, you’re welcome to contact us.
Do we need to sort coins or currency before shipping?
No. Sorting is not required. We handle sorting and categorization during processing.
If possible, removing obvious non-currency items (tokens, washers, scrap, etc.) helps keep shipments clean.
What materials do you accept?
We accept mixed international coin, U.S. coin, and foreign banknotes. Most organizations collect “whatever supporters have left over from travel.”
For full valuation details, see the Valuation & Purchase Policy.
Do you accept U.S. coins?
Yes. U.S. coins are accepted and valued separately as a percentage of face value calculated by weight using standard specifications.
Details are included in the Valuation & Purchase Policy.
Are old or obsolete coins OK?
Yes. Obsolete and demonetized coins are welcome. While some older coins may no longer circulate, they can often be recovered, processed,
or recycled through appropriate bulk channels. Materials that cannot be returned to circulation are handled responsibly, including metal recovery where applicable.
Are all foreign banknotes exchangeable?
Not always. Some notes may be obsolete, demonetized, or unexchangeable depending on currency and series.
Foreign banknotes are valued based on successfully exchanged value, as described in the Valuation & Purchase Policy.
Is there a minimum amount to ship?
There is no minimum to participate. Prepaid shipping materials are provided for consolidated shipments of 20 lbs or more.
Smaller shipments may be sent using a trackable shipping method at the organization’s discretion.
How does shipping work?
When your drive is complete and you have 20+ lbs of material, we provide a prepaid Priority Mail label and shipping materials (box and collection bag).
You ship one consolidated shipment. Shipment weight is determined upon verified receipt.
How long should we run the fundraiser?
Most organizations run their drive for 4–6 weeks. This gives supporters time to find unused travel currency and bring it in,
while keeping the campaign simple and easy to manage.
How do I promote my fundraiser?
We make it easy. Once you’re signed up, we provide ready-to-use outreach materials, including:
- Email copy you can send directly to your supporters
- Social media graphics formatted for Facebook and Instagram
- Downloadable, printable PDF flyers
- Suggested messaging and timeline guidance
What do you do with all these coins?
Collected materials are processed through our established bulk currency recovery channels. Mixed international coin is sorted and consolidated
for resale or metal recovery where appropriate. Exchangeable banknotes are converted through standard financial channels.
CurrencyFundraiser.com is operated by Moraz Inc., which specializes in bulk currency recovery and materials processing. Learn more on our About page.

When do we get paid?
Payment is issued within 7 business days of completed processing, along with a clear payout summary showing verified weight received,
category breakdown, and any applicable bonuses.
Do you buy currency material from businesses or individuals?
Yes—if the quantity is sufficient. Moraz Inc. (through Moraz Currency Materials) works with financial institutions, cash processors, and other partners to purchase large quantities of coin and currency material. If you are a business or individual with bulk material available, please contact us directly.
